SeaSalt works inside the environment you have already configured.
You do not have to recreate your development setup in a hosted workspace. Project agents work through the Mac where your code, tools, and authorized accounts already live.

Does SeaSalt run the work on my Mac?
Yes. Work sessions execute on the selected Mac and use the environment available there. Model inference may be cloud-backed or local depending on the provider you choose.
What does Captain do?
Captain coordinates project agents. It can create and update agents, ask them for project context, and help you inspect or steer their work sessions.
Can I use SeaSalt away from my desk?
Yes. The iPhone companion lets you reach SeaSalt remotely, and also provides terminal, desktop, and file access to the paired Mac.
Which agents and models can I use?
Claude Code (as a coding-agent executor, plus Claude chat through the Anthropic Agent SDK), ChatGPT through Codex, and local models through Ollama and LM Studio. You connect your own provider account; usage is billed by that provider.
What does SeaSalt store on its servers?
Your repositories stay on your Mac, and work sessions run there. So you can follow agents from your iPhone, SeaSalt syncs agent conversations, work-session prompts and results, and the code changes agents make through our servers, encrypted in transit and at rest. Terminal, desktop, and file access from your iPhone is end-to-end encrypted between your devices. Model inference goes to the provider you choose, or stays on your Mac with a local model.
Do I need to open ports or set up a VPN?
No. SeaSalt connects your iPhone and Mac through an encrypted relay with no network configuration.
What happens after the free trial?
The Mac app stays free forever. After 14 days, the iPhone companion and remote access continue with SeaSalt Pro at $10/month or $99/year.
Does it work when my Mac is locked?
Yes. Agents and terminal and file access keep working while your Mac is locked. Remote Desktop needs the display awake; on a laptop, keep the lid slightly open.
