Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Seasalt ("the Service"), including the macOS agent, iOS companion application, and relay infrastructure, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Seasalt provides a secure, relay-based remote terminal access platform. The Service enables users to remotely access macOS terminal sessions from iOS devices through an encrypted relay infrastructure. All terminal content is end-to-end encrypted between user devices; the relay infrastructure routes encrypted data but cannot decrypt or access its contents.

3. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

Seasalt offers both free and paid subscription plans. The Free plan includes limited features as described on our pricing page. Paid plans (Pro) are billed monthly through Stripe and provide additional features and higher usage limits.

Paid subscriptions automatically renew each billing cycle unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Access systems or data without authorization
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, authentication, or security measures
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Service to third parties without authorization

You are solely responsible for all activities conducted through your terminal sessions. Seasalt cannot monitor or control the content of encrypted sessions.

6. Device Management and Security

You are responsible for the security of your registered devices and pairing relationships. You should promptly revoke access to any device or pairing that may have been compromised. Seasalt provides device revocation tools that take immediate effect across all system layers.

7. End-to-End Encryption

The Service uses end-to-end encryption (AES-256-GCM with ECDH key exchange) for all terminal content. Encryption keys are generated on and stored exclusively in your device Keychains. Seasalt does not have access to your encryption keys and cannot decrypt your terminal sessions. This means we cannot comply with requests to provide the contents of your encrypted sessions, as we do not have the technical ability to access them.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance.

9. Intellectual Property

The Seasalt name, logo, and all associated software, designs, and documentation are the intellectual property of Seasalt. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Seasalt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
